Top Local Bars
Now the good stuff. The Green Parrot on Whitehead and Southard has been the locals' bar since 1890 — no cover, live music most nights, and a crowd that actually came for the band. This is the answer to "where do people who live here drink." The Garden of Eden up on the rooftop is pure Key West weird in the best way. Trust me. Do Duval early, then walk two blocks over and let the real town take the rest of the night.

The Garden of Eden is the original rooftop and still the most fun. For a slower, sunset-drink kind of evening, the Opal Key Resort's harbor bar (the old Westin, right on the marina) has the polish and the water views. Different moods, both worth it — one for the show, one for the calm.
